What does each part of this number mean?

Definitions

195 = Width of the tyre. Measured in milimeters.

55 = Aspect ratio. Measured in percent. Height of tyre sidewall as a % of the width.

r = Radial construction. How the inside of the tyre is designed. 

16 = Diameter of the inner rim. Measured in inches.

87 = Load Index Rating. Maximum amount of weight a tyre can bear (not in KG or lbs)

v = Speed symbol. Maximum speed of tyre at full load.
